The Alphabet Forest is a shady area across from the 4H building on the north end of the fairgrounds. It’s a place where children and parents can take time out from the hustle and bustle of the fair and enjoy free activities such as: play an alphabet word game, color an alphabet ferris wheel, meet a Minnesota author, read books, or have your photo taken with large letters.
The Alphabet Forest is supported and funded by many organizations and corporations. Hundreds of volunteers work three-hour shifts to promote literacy, vocabulary and books.
I’ve volunteered for the last four years and have loved it! I’ve enjoyed working with children, authors, and promoting reading, writing, and books.
